Organization
The goals of the Knights' program are to develop character, sportsmanship and teamwork while also teaching our children to become better baseball players. We provide an opportunity to experience competitive baseball in a positive environment.
Age groups
The player's age is determined by the age of the child on 30 April of the Spring season. The Knights plan to field at least one team in the following age groups: 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U for 2012. The program is set up for our players to move through the age groups while keeping base team continuity. Teams will have the opportunity to play together at multiple events throughout the season further promoting the continuity of the organization and the overall experience for all of our players.
Baseball
The Knights practice at various indoor and outdoor facilities throughout Southern Maryland. Facilities and practice schedules will vary between age groups.
Also, varying by age, the Knights will participate in league play with the Chesapeake Baseball Association, mini-tournaments, double header pick-up games, along with tournament play at events both in and out of the local area. Number of practices/games/events will be at the discretion of each team.
The teams play baseball both in the Fall season and Spring/Summer season. The teams begin to be formed for the Fall season of games. The players from Fall are intended to form the basis of the Spring/Summer season.
